Iconic Teatro di San Carlo Will Perform at Pyramids in October

Italian opera is set to take over the iconic Great Pyramids of Giza in what is being touted as "the biggest Italian event ever in Egypt." Scheduled for October 11th, 2023, the performance will feature Teatro San Carlo, the oldest continuously active venue for opera in the world, brought to life in 1737. This will be the first time they perform in Egypt and their first international tour since the pandemic.
The performance promises to revive the greatest Italian opera performances in one grand show by the Pyramids, with a repertoire that will include Italian, international, and Egyptian masterpieces, including opera arias by a slew of yet unannounced superstar soloists.
The Italian Ambassador to Egypt, Michele Quaroni and the Egyptian Tourism Authority CEO, Amr El Kady made the announcement, expressing their hopes of strengthening the economic and touristic relationships between Italy and Egypt.
With global exposure expected, the event - organised by industry giants RMC Worldwide under the guidance of its founder and managing director, Ahmed Ebeid - is set to be a worldwide sensation, offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness the beauty of Italian opera amidst the awe-inspiring backdrop of the pyramids for the first time in decades.
