Hurghada Intl Youth Film Festival to Honour Director Youssef Chahine

The first edition of the Hurghada International Youth Film Festival, running from September 21st to September 27th, will shine a light on the works of emerging Arab filmmakers. To mark the occasion, the festival will celebrate renowned Egyptian filmmaker Youssef Chahine, giving participants a close look at the pioneering director’s extensive filmography.

The schedule will also feature a panel discussion hosted by Egyptian stars that Chahine discovered throughout his career, including Khaled El Nabawy, Hani Salama, Youssra El Lozy, Ruby, and more.

The Hurghada Youth International Film Festival will showcase multiple short and feature film competitions, a competition for film students across Egypt, and a special award for films tackling climate change dubbed ‘The Green Award’.

The festival is supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Red Sea Governorate.
