Four Private Universities to Open in Sinai, Alamein, Marsa Matrouh and Daqahlia
Egypt will be establishing four new private universities in Sinai, Alamein, Marsa Matrouh and Dahaqlia to better the community and advance Egypt.
In order to better serve different governorates and ultimately change the scope of higher education in the country, Egypt will be establishing four new non-for-profit private universities in Alamein, Sinai, Marsa Matrouh and Dahaqlia: King Salman International University, with branches in Ras Sedr and Sharm El Sheikh’s Al-Tor and Ras Sedr, Al-Alamein International University in New Al-Alamein City in Matrouh, Galalah University in Galalah City in Suez, and the New Mansoura University in Daqahlia.
This move works towards enriching Egypt’s options for higher education and – according to Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly – reflects the government’s goals pertaining to advancing society and as a means of further connecting education and the labour market.
It seems like students living in the four governorates are up for a diverse choices of majors, because the universities are set to provide different non-traditional study programmes specifically designed to fulfill the needs of the local and international labour market -- with the King Salman International University offering 45 programmes, Galalah University offering 66, the New Al-Alamein University offering 43 programmes and the New Mansoura University offering 28 different programmes. The universities are also set out to accommodate advanced scientific research through their modern infrastructure, and aim to uphold local and international educational standards, and ultimately develop Egypt.
No opening dates have yet been set, but keep it locked to #CairoScene for further updates.
