Fayoum’s Tunis Gets Free Village-Wide Wi-Fi
Tunis Village will soon offer free Wi-Fi for everyone in town to help support its tourist centres.
Fayoum’s Tunis Village - best known for its handicrafts and natural splendour - is en route to becoming the first town in Egypt to offer free Wi-Fi to help support its bustling tourist centres. Due to the drop in tourism during the Coronavirus pandemic, this new telecommunications agreement is hoped to give Tunis Village’s famous art centres and hostels the upgrade they need to continue being an attractive option for visitors.
This isn’t the only step forward the village is taking, with the announcement of a new mobile app for local artisans to market their products, new sanitation and preservation measures for Lake Qarun, more government facilities for villagers, and the launch of various international competitions in the village.
