Environmental Group Greenish Creates ‘Greenish Clubs’ for Students

‘Greenish’ made a name for themselves by instructing local businesses, restaurants and NGOs how to implement green policies across dozens of Egyptian cities. Whether they’re cleaning up the Nile with VeryNile, or making mini shelters for strays with Meow Tours, Greenish always seem to be on top of the environmentalist game. Recently they’ve been empowering the next generation of environmentalists with their ‘Greenish Clubs’, which just got an endorsement from the Ministry of Environment to keep the good work going.

These clubs have been helping students understand and tackle environmental issues. One stand-out example takes place at the Higher Technological Institute in 10th of Ramadan city, where Greenish Club members formed the Azimuth Wind Turbine team. With their innovative wind turbine designs, Azimuth went on to earn a slew of prizes - including a nomination for the prestigious USD 1,000,000 Hult Prize - and recently began a start-up off the back of their success.

With the support of the Ministry of Environment, as well as the embassies of Switzerland and New Zealand, ‘Greenish Clubs’ will be implemented in more than 26 universities across 11 governorates.
