Egyptian Space Agency's Next Satellite Will Be 100% Made in Egypt

The Egyptian Space Agency's satellite, the MisrSat-2, is due for completion in August 2022.

The Egyptian Space Agency is shooting for the stars with their next big project. The MisrSat-2 satellite will be special - not so much because of its payload, which will just be a high resolution camera, but because the satellite itself will be completely, 100% manufactured in Egypt.

It has a little help, of course. A grant from the Chinese government, who have also assisted with the design of the satellite, got the Egyptian Space Agency their start on the MisrSat-2. Beyond that, though, all the components of the satellite will be totally local, and will demonstrate Egypt's capacity for space exploration.

The MisrSat-2 is scheduled for completion in August 2022.
