Egyptian Singer Shereen is Making a Comeback to the Screen after 16 Years

Egyptian superstar Shereen Abdel Wahab is making her 16-years-overdue comeback to cinema! She just signed with renowned Egyptian producer Walid Mansour for her first starring role yet.

It’s a romantic thriller musical. Yes, you read that right. Heavily inspired by Disney classic Beauty and the Beast's use of film techniques and audio effects while putting forth its own unique story, the musical is rumoured to be directed by one of the biggest local directors - although which one's been pegged for the job is hard to say.

No other details have been released or announced regarding the new film other than that auditions are being held across Egypt and the Arab world, and that shooting is expected to start with the beginning of the new year in 2020.
