Egyptian NGO 'Educate Me' is the First Arab Winner of UNESCO-Hamdan Teacher's Prize

Egyptian non-profit organization 'Educate Me Foundation' was given the best gift possible on World Teacher’s Day, having been awarded the UNESCO Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Prize for Outstanding Practice and Performance in Enhancing the Effectiveness of Teachers. The foundation is officially the first recipient from an Arab country to receive this award since it was launched six years ago in 2014.

The foundation was created to reinstate children in public schools, but has since developed its own learner-centred skill-based educational model. Since then, their educational model has become government-certified, and the foundation actively implements its professional development programme to train teachers across the country.

Growing from a volunteer-based initiative when it was first founded in 2010, the NGO now has over 70 employees, its very own community school serving over 350 students, professional development programmes serving 6,000 teachers, access to 400 public schools and 100,00 public school students across eight governorates.
