Egyptian Footballer Mohamed Elneny on Verge of Move to Turkish Club Besiktas

Several media outlets in the UK have reported that Egyptian footballer, Mohamed Elneny, is in talks with Turkish club, Besiktas, with a view to a season-long loan.

Elneny has found himself on the sidelines at his current team, Arsenal, since the London-based club hired Spanish coach, Unai Emery, as their new manager in the summer of 2018.

The 27 year-old midfielder has long been considered an important part of Egypt's national team and made his name in Switzerland at Basel FC alongside Mohamed Salah, where he won a the Swiss Superleague in each of his four seasons at the club.

A product of the Al-Ahly youth system, the El Mahalla El Kubra native was rumoured to have attracted the attention of French club, Girondins de Bordeaux, and another Turkish team, Galatasaray, but it is widely believed that Elneney will land in Istanbul to secure the move to Besiktas.
