Egyptian Brands Join Forces in Fashion 180 Alliance

In an effort to protect the local fashion market and allow Egyptian companies to enter global markets, the biggest alliance has been formed between eleven of Egypt’s ready-made clothes and fabric products companies. This super-team of designers, manufacturers and vested business interests call themselves ‘Fashion 180’ and is made up of Egyptian brands like Milk Fashion Wear, Marco Lorie and Melon Kids Wear.

We're talking big money here; the alliance will launch with total investments of EGP 5 billion that are expected to increase to EGP 10 billion over the next five years. Similar to how Indietex, the world's largest fashion retailer, owns 8 brands, the alliance will work together to enter new markets and expand globally. Research in local and global markets confirmed that 2020 will be the year of mergers and big entities, so as far as we can tell, this alliance is well-timed to take on the world.
