Egyptian Actress Laila Eloui Announced as Jury Member at Malmö Arab Film Festival 2019

Veteran Egyptian actress, Laila Eloui, has been announced as a jury member for the Feature Film competition at this year's Malmö Arab Film Festival (MAFF), where she will be joined by Tunisian director, Reda el-Bahi, and Iraqi critic, Qais Qasim.

Taking place between the 4th and 8th of October in what is Sweden's third largest city, MAFF is considered the biggest and most influential Arab film festival in Europe. Debuting in 2011, the festival aims to present the work of Arab filmmakers, as well as work that covers the Arab world and its culture.

Egypt will also be represented in the jury for the Short Film competition by prominent critic, Walid Seif, while Egyptian director, Ayman Makram, will premiere his latest film, Yom We Leila, which stars Khaled El Nabawi, Ahmed El Fishawy, Dorra and Hanan Metaweh, at the closing ceremony.

This year's edition of MAFF, the ninth overall, will screen around 120 features, short films and documentaries, with 17 of the films set to be screened in Copenhagen, Denmark as part of the festival's efforts to expands its impact in neighbouring Scandinavian countries.
