As of November 1st, EgyptAir will start operating a direct flight route between Cairo and Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. Egypt is a popular destination for visitors from Bangladesh, whether it’s for tourism or for education, with 25,000 Bangladeshi university students currently living in Egypt. Bangladesh meanwhile is ripe with ancient and natural sites for tourists to marvel at, including the ancient city of Gaur, St. Martin’s Island, Ham Ham Waterfall, and the eighth-century Somapuri Mahavihara monastery, a massive quadrangular structure built into a hill that has been recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site as it had once been a centre for Hindu-Buddhist learning and worship.
