Egypt's Red Crescent Receives EGP 1 Million from International Red Cross

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has donated EGP 1 million in necessary personal protective equipment and medical supplies to the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) to help Egypt in their continued fight against COVID-19.

As part of the cooperation plan between the ICRC and the ERC, the organisations have organised four rounds of aid distributions to support thousands of families in the North Sinai governorate affected by the Coronavirus crisis.

"Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in Egypt, the ICRC has been in close contact with the ERC to provide support, advice, and training to staff and volunteers in light of the ERC’s important role in the national response to COVID-19,” said Ronald Ofteringer, Head of the ICRC’s Cairo delegation. At the end of the day it’s not just our use of red-coloured iconography that unites us - it’s our common humanity in the face of a global crisis.
