Egypt’s First-Ever Digital Awards Are Set to Take Place This Year

Egypt’s first ever home-grown digital awards are nigh! Set to take place on November 5th, the NU Digital Awards are set to celebrate all things digital and pay tribute to an ecosystem that has brought out the best in young, Egyptian innovators.

Promising a judging panel of industry heavyweights from Egypt and beyond, a whopping 59 sub-categories have been announced under the main categories of ‘Digital Media Campaigns’, ‘Social Engagement’, ‘Digital Craft’ and ‘Cross-Border,’ the latter of which is set to knowledge work that has demonstrated regional and global impact. It's the 'Special Awards' category that most will have their eyes on, however, with 'Agency of the Year', 'Brand of the Year' and ‘Best of Show' awards set to be dished out.

The launch of the awards was announced at a special event last week, where it was revealed that a certain Terry Savage is on board as consultant. If you haven’t heard of him, that’s ok, because this is a man, nay giant, that has worked behind the scenes at some of the biggest festivals and awards ceremonies on the planet, most notably at Cannes Lions, where he was formerly the chairman.

So, yes – this is the real deal. Submissions open on May 10th, which may seem like light-years away in the fast-paced digital world, but really isn’t. So get your papers in order and head to the awards' official website.
