Egypt’s First Automatic Hydraulic Parking Garage is Now Open in Heliopolis

The much talked about Roxy Automatic Garage Project has finally opened its doors in Heliopolis, becoming the first automated hydraulic car parking system in Egypt.

Consisting of four underground floors, each 10,000 square metres, The Roxy Garage is completely automated; drivers park their cars inside elevators, which transport the vehicles to designated areas. You can then retrieve the car using smart cards and the garage's operation manager, Maged Zarif, revealing that the process should not take more than three minutes.

The garage is currently in its first phase and can accommodate up to 900 cars, though on full completion it will be able to hold 1,700 vehicles. Established by the governorate of Cairo in collaboration with the Ministry of Military Production, the Arab Organisation for Industrialization and the South Korean government, the first phase is estimated to have cost EGP 230 million.
