Egypt Prepares for UCI Junior Track Cycling World Championship
After getting postponed due to the Coronavirus, Egypt has begun preparations for the 2021 UCI Junior Track Cycling World Championships, starting September 1st.
Egypt is preparing to host the 2021 UCI Junior Track Cycling World Championships this September. A signing ceremony recently took place between the president of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), David Lappartient, and the president of the Egyptian and African Cycling Confederation, Dr. Mohamed Wagih Azzam, granting Egypt full responsibility for this global sporting competition.
After successfully hosting the 2021 World Handball Championship, Egypt has earned the confidence of sporting federations to organise similar prestigious events.
The junior track cycling tournament was supposed to begin April 5th, but was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. With travel restrictions getting lifted, the tournament will be able to take place from September 1st to September 5th at the International cycling track in Cairo Stadium.
