Egypt’s Ministry of Education to Launch its First Ever Jewellery Manufacturing School

Egypt’s Minister of Education, Tarek Shawky, has announced the launch of Egypt’s first government-backed technical school specialising in the manufacturing of jewellery and accessories.

Located in Obour City, the school is the product of a collaboration with 84 year-old company, Egypt Gold, with Egypt Today quoting Shawky as saying that a further “four or five branches will be opened.” It was also revealed that students enrolled in the school will be given a salary and will have classes six days a week two dedicated to theoretical studies and four to practical.

Shawky highlighted the importance of technical education and applied tech schools in both keeping up with education systems around the world and producing a steady stream of qualified Egyptians into the industrial, agricultural and commercial labour markets.
