Established in 2011, the Global Counterterrorism Forum has served as an informal and apolitical platform for counterterrorist officials and practitioners from 30 participating member states to share their expertise and learn from one another. Egypt was one of its founding member states, and now it plans to co-chair the Coordinating Committee meeting alongside the European Union in March 2022, taking over from Canada and Morocco after they co-chaired the biannual meeting in October 2021.
