Egypt Bans Mailing of Cash or Cheques Through the Postal Service
Based on a legislative amendment against money laundering made last May, Egypt Post will no longer allow any form of money - whether it’s cash, cheque, or a document for financial transaction - through the mail.
Sep 30, 2020
As of this week, Egypt Post will no longer allow money to be mailed through their services. No cash, no cheques, no documents of any kind for financial transactions, nothing. Any form of money that you can put in an envelope and put through snail mail is all off-limits now. The decision is part of a wider effort to make money laundering and the financing of terrorist groups more difficult, which itself is based on a legislative amendment against money laundering made last May.
