Egypt Announces First-Ever National Space Day

In news that can only be described as 'out of this world', the Egyptian Space Agency has officially announced February 16th as National Space Day to celebrate the country's recent strides into the big, black unknown, as well as to celebrate the recent historic launch of the Egyptian satellite, Tiba-1.

What exactly National Space Day will entail as a whole is yet to be revealed, but what we do know is that the Egyptian Centre for Research will host a special event on the 16th and that the agency will be launching a competition for students to create satellites out of recycled cans. These young space scientists-in-the-making will receive a weekly class on making the satellites, and the winner will be announced in April.

One giant leap, indeed.
