The House of Representatives have approved an amendment to the traffic regulations law (66 of 1973), which will lower the minimum age for motorcyclists acquiring a driver's license from 18 years old to 16 years old.
The driving age was lowered to reflect international standards for motorcyclists. The amendment will not be applied to tuktuks, as those are licensed from local city councils.
