Dream Beach Hurghada Reopens One Day After Massive Fire Destroys Entrance

Patrons of Dream Beach were welcomed back today after a fire ravaged the entrance of the popular Red Sea beach club yesterday morning. According to several online publications, a fire had burned through Dream Beach and the hotel in which it is located last Sunday morning. Video's surfaced online of the blaze. We spoke to Mr. Ehab Bibars, chairman of the company that owns the hotel [Elysees Hotel] that the beach is located in. He told us "It is true that a fire started at the entrance of Dream Beach Sunday morning originating from the spa." He continues, "The venue sustained minor losses largely thanks to the men of the Hurghada Fire Department as they were able to contain the fire and put it out in a very short time ."He also noted that the large cloud of smoke was caused by the wooden roof of the entrance and reception area. Mr. Bibars also expressed his disappointment in some of the local news outlets who - in his own words - "tried to sensationalise the situation by publishing rumours, like that the hotel has burned down, or that there were losses in lives, and injuries." He wrapped up by saying "All of this is not true, the fire was put out in two hours, and as of this morning [Monday] our doors are open and business is going on as usual, our customers are on the premises right now, enjoying the sun."We sent out one of our photographers to take a look around, and what is apparent in the footage is that the venue is still operating, the losses are located only at the entrance as it is extremely close to the spa. The spa that caused the fire is rented out to a company that owns several branches around the city, and is not operated by the Elysees Hotel, an investigation is under way.The hotel itself is unscathed, all of the guests are safe, and all operations are continuing as usual. The hotel's staff are also safe, and continuing on with work as usual.
