Dome of Sultan Qansuh Abu Said in Cairo Has Been Fully Restored

The Dome of Sultan Qansuh Abu Said has been a part of Cairo since its construction in 1499, standing out with its iconic pattern of interlocking arrow shapes across the exterior. The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has announced that restoration work on the Dome has recently been completed, with work done on its windows, lighting, stained glass, interior finishings, and pavement.

Sitting on the Eastern Cemetery of the Mamluks in the City of the Dead, the dome was constructed to be the burial ground of Qansuh Abu Said, a young Circassian from the Burji dynasty who served as the 23rd Sultan of Egypt between 1498 to 1500.
