Discover Ancient Egypt with Assassin's Creed Virtual Tour

You know that feeling when you travel on holiday to a new country but you really can’t be bothered to play an ancient hitman attempting to unshackle the world from the evil constraints of the Knights Templar? Well, if so, this is just for you! Award-winning game developers Ubisoft have announced they have extracted the Ancient Egyptian and Ancient Greek worlds created within the gameplay of their renowned multi-player action-adventure game series Assassin’s Creed, and made them available online for the public to visit them virtually.

The Discovery Tour: Ancient Egypt allows you to roam freely in the beautiful world of Ptolemaic Egypt. Learn more about its life, habits and customs by yourself, or let historians and Egyptologists guide you on one of the 75 available historical tours they have curated.

Meanwhile in the Ancient Greece version you can travel throughout 29 regions and uncover hundreds of stations with tours on 5 different themes: philosophy, famous cities, daily life, war and myths to learn more about the history of Ancient Greece. We can’t wait to play, or should we say we can’t wait plato ha ha ha (look, Plato would have laughed, ok? He'd know the platonic ideal of wordplay does not exist on the physical realm).

These Discovery Tours were developed directly from two of the company's existing games: Assassin's Creed Origins, which is set in Egypt near the end of the Ptolemaic period (49 to 47 BCE), and Assassin's Creed Odyssey, which takes place in Greece several years after the Spartans fought the Persians.

The game is free to play until May 21st at 8:00PM. Head to register.ubisoft.com/aco-discovery-tour/en-US to play.
