The new coin is a collaboration between Egypt’s Public Treasury Department and Britain's official coin maker, the Royal Mint.
The Council of Ministries just announced initial approval of a new two-pound Egyptian coin, set to be launched soon. The new coin is a collaboration between Egypt’s Public Treasury Department and Britain’s official coin maker, the Royal Mint. The partnership will also result in the construction of a new British-Egyptian coinage in the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
The new coin will soon be available for trading to the public, and comes in light of the Ministry of Finance’s collaborative vision, putting Egypt on the map as a local producer of currencies in the MENA region instead of importing the raw materials. Time to buy a bigger coin-pouch.
