Coptic Church to Hold Christmas Mass in the New Administrative Capital's Cathedral
The new cathedral replaces Saint Mark Cathedral as Africa and the Middle East's biggest cathedral.
Egypt's Coptic Orthodox Church announced on Wednesday that this year's Christmas Mass, to be held on the eve of January 6th, will take place at the New Administrative Capital's Cathedral, which was previously declared to be the biggest church in Egypt, Egypt Independent reports.
"Next year, we're going to be celebrating the inauguration of Egypt's biggest mosque and church, and I will be the first to contribute to that project," said President El-Sisi at January 2017's Christmas Mass at Saint Mark Cathedral, the seat of Pope Tawadros's papal-ship. "Diversity was created by god. Those who reject our diversity refuse to see the facts as they are."
The new cathedral is set to replace Saint Mark Cathedral as Africa and the Middle East's biggest church.
