Cairo's First Fuel Station Serving Gasoline, Natural Gas & Electricity
Egypt has inaugurated Cairo's first integrated fuel station in Abbasiya, which can serve vehicles that run on gasoline, natural gas or electric power. Operated by state-owned natural gas company Gastec as well as Italian oil company Eni, the station is part of Egypt's concentrated efforts to convert Egyptian drivers from gasoline to natural gas. Natural gas fuelling stations have more than doubled from 180 to 375 over the past year. Meanwhile, the national 'Go Green' initiative has been encouraging drivers to replace tens of thousands of cars with hybrid-fuel vehicles over the past three years.
