Cairo Metro Will Stay Open Until 2AM Throughout Eid Holidays

Late-night metro commuters will be happy to know that all three metro lines will be operating until 2:00 AM instead of 1:00 AM until Eid El Fitr vacation is over! Since the beginning of Ramadan, the Egyptian government has had metro operations start from 5:30 AM, ensuring that all carts will be sanitized and cleaned to protect against COVID-19. 

During regular operations, the last cart leaves from Adly Masnour station at 12:15 AM, and from Ataba at 12:55 AM. The two carts meet at Anwar Al Sadat station at 1:00 AM. The second line and the third line carts meet at Ataba station at 12:55 AM, and these hours will all be delayed one hour during the vacation. 

This announcement should facilitate around 1,445 trips across all three platforms everyday during Eid El Fitr. It is expected that the number of trips from the first line, which leaves from Helwan to Mag, to reach 510 trips in total. The second line trips from Shoubra El Kheima to Mounib go up to a total of 492 trips, while the third line trips from Ataba to Adly Mansour usually reach 443 trips.
