Cairo Bites is Back!

Seeing as our one true and undying love in this world is food, you can imagine the various feelings of excitement which electrified our office like a live wire when we realised it was that time of year again; Cairo Bites time. Nothing gets our pulses racing and our hearts beating, our taste buds turned on and our – ok you get the picture. Last year’s Cairo Bites food festival threw the whole city into a feeding frenzy, drawing out over 7,000 hungry humans. The army of eaters descended upon Baron Palace to enjoy a day filled to the brim with them stuffing their faces with every type of food imaginable. Which, really, on any given day, is the best way to spend one’s time.

This year, the food festival is taking things to new levels. After last year’s insane turnout they’re picking up the entire operation and taking it to The Family Park in Rehab City, where there are acres and acres of gorgeous space and greenery to accommodate the crazy crowds that are turning up this year. AND they’re making it a two-day event, over the weekend of April 17th and 18th, so that everyone’s got time to join the culinary experience. As per usual, there will be stall after stall loaded with food to satisfy every single craving you’ve ever had or will have, with over 70 participating eateries, plus all-day-long running cooking shows and competitions by celebrity chefs. You will likely leave this event a good five to seven kilos overweight and that is A-okay and you will not mind at all. On top of that, its new location at the park means you can chillax and laze around the grass, gorging yourself on everything from baked goods to burgers while loads of local musical acts just casually rock out around you and keep the vibe pumped.

Our advice to you is mark your calendars; from cookies to kebdah prepare your tummy for two consecutive days of feasting. We also suggest you head to their website here and get your earlybird tickets because the first 1,000 (yes, THOUSAND) people to book get 45% off the full price of the ticket. So…get on it. Keep up to date with the full schedule on Cairo Bites' official Facebook page here.
