Brands, Programs and Paper Airplanes - See How the Knowledge Hub Welcomed Its 2020 Class

The Knowledge Hub Universities held their open house and very first event of 2020 on the first of February at Coventry University Egypt in the New Administrative Capital, where they welcomed their prospective September students and their parents into what will be their second home for the next three or four years. They were welcomed to the university grounds by Antony Eddison, Coventry University Branch Director and Head of School of Design and Media and Stratis Kanarachos, Head of School of Engineering and Computing. The new university, in partnership with Coventry University in the UK, brings international standards of education into the heart of the new capital - without worrying about the flight ticket.

The event offered workshops for each of the three internal schools of Coventry University - Engineering, Computing, and Design and Media - as a neat preview of what the students had in store for them. The Design and Media workshop discussed visual communication and brand identity, followed by the Engineering workshop that pretty much was - get this - a paper airplane contest. We wouldn’t have minded studying that in uni, if you ask us. The students got a full campus tour and got to enjoy all the amenities like the indoor and outdoor gym, various lounges, and top-notch food.

Towards the latter half of the day, Ashraf Mourad, CTO at a software development company gave a shining guest speech on Gen Z Techies taking the world by storm and the future of technology. The new students were also taught how to develop their portfolio ahead of their education in order to strengthen their pre-employability skills. With the future of Egypt brewing in the New Administrative Capital, Egypt’s brightest young minds don't need to worry about sticking close to home now that they've got such institutions nearby that can provide them with a bright future.
