Biggest Children’s Hospital in MENA Opens Today in Shubra
Completely funded by Egyptian donations.
This just made us so happy: the Middle East and North Africa’s biggest children’s hospital, Al Nas, just opened its doors today in Shubra Al Kheima. And get this, the facility has been completely crowdfunded using the donations of generous Egyptians. Looks like we’ve got a big heart after all.
The new facility is comprised of five buildings, 557 hospital beds, 140 intensive care units, 10 surgery rooms, 48 outpatient clinics, and 4 catheter chambers and provides 100% free medical services for all its patients. The inauguration this morning marked the opening of the medical megaplex’s first building, which is dedicated to aiding children born with heart defects through surgery, with the following building set to open next year.
