Attaba - Kit Kat Metro Line to Open June 2022

Work is currently underway on the latest phase of Cairo Metro Line 3, which will see Attaba Station connect with Kit Kat Station.

The line will pass through Zamalek island, allowing passengers to stop at Gamal Abdel Nasser Station at 26th of July Corridor, Maspero Station, and Zamalek Station along the way. This new line is scheduled to open in June 2022.

The Cairo Metro is also courting four Egyptian companies for the construction and implementation of Cairo Metro Line 4. The first phase will start from 6th of October City and pass by 12 stations - includings ones near the Grand Egyptian Museum and Haram Street - until it reaches Dokki. The second phase will start from Giza Square, driving through Fustat and connecting with Cairo Metro Line 1.

While the Cairo Metro currently accommodates 2.5 million citizens a day, that number is expected to grow to 9.5 million passengers a day once these extensions are complete.
