Aswan Forum Brings Together Africa's Leaders to Tackle Climate Change

On June 21st and June 22nd, the third edition of the Aswan Forum for Sustainable Peace and Development will bring together some of Africa's thought leaders to address the continent's greatest challenges with climate change. Under the theme of 'Africa in an Era of Cascading Risks and Climate Vulnerability', the forum will include virtual and in-person meetings in Cairo, where participants from across Africa will discuss tracks for cooperation to combat terrorism, the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, and threats to food security.

The forum is currently being organised, and with this year's theme, it holds a special significance as part of Egypt's build-up towards COP27 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Sharm El Sheikh later this November.
