Ancient Greco-Roman Pottery Workshop Uncovered in Beheira

An Egyptian archaeological mission has discovered an ancient pottery workshop dating back to the Greco-Roman era in Kom Aziza, located within the Beheira governorate. The workshop included incinerators, metal tools such as pottery wheels, and structures for kneading, baking and drying of the pottery, most of which date between the 3rd century BC and the 1st century AD.

The mission also found a residential settlement and mud-brick houses that contained pots for daily use, cooking surfaces, storage silos and bronze coins. Mud-brick tombs with skeletons inside were uncovered as well, with funerary decorations made of copper and alabaster.
