Ancient Animal Embalming Workshop Unearthed in Saqqara

Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities in Egypt, Mostafa Waziri, announced a recent discovery of an ancient Egyptian animal embalming workshop in Saqqara.

Recent discoveries of multiple mummified animals prompted an archaeological mission to search for a nearby embalming workshop that would have worked to preserve them. The newly discovered workshop includes every tool the ancient Egyptians used in their mummification process.
