An Ancient Roman-Era City Has Been Totally Unearthed in Luxor

A team of Egyptian archaeologists has unearthed a complete Roman-era city in Luxor. Dating back 1,800 years, the site contains two pigeon towers, metal workshops and multiple residential buildings that used to house the city’s inhabitants during the second and third centuries.

While many tombs and temples have survived in Luxor, the discovery of this ancient city is considered particularly groundbreaking as it may provide a greater insight into daily life in Egypt during the Roman era.
