All Cairo Government Offices to Be Vacated Early 2021

It looks like next year will be a year of new beginnings for tens of thousands of civil servants, who will not only be physically relocating to the New Administrative Capital, but will be entering a new digital age of government processing. Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has announced that at the beginning of 2021, all of Egypt’s government offices will be evacuated completely, with the workers moved to fresh offices at the New Administrative Capital (NAC).

Around 60,000 workers will move to the NAC over the course of 2021, with only a few governmental employees remaining in Cairo after moving to smaller offices.

The Egyptian government plans to completely digitise all businesses, and have all correspondences between governmental agencies carried out electronically in an effort to phase out the use of paper, leading to more efficient work.
