The governor of Alexandria has implemented a new law that will ban tuk tuks and tricycles from driving on the corniche in Alexandria. Anyone caught rolling on the waterfront promenade will receive a EGP 10,000 fine, and will have their vehicles confiscated.
The new law won’t only affect the corniche - tuk tuks will be banned from any other main roads in the coastal city as well, confining them to smaller alleys and streets.
