Ain Shams University Gets Its Own Faculty of Archaeology
When it comes to archaeology in Egypt the more the merrier, and while we have our fair share of groundbreaking archaeologists like Zahi Hawass and Sanaa El-Sayed, who led the excavation for the Mansourasaurus, we have a lot of foreign help. Missions from abroad constantly come in to help us all learn more about what lies beneath our desert sands. And while that's great - no hate, appreciate - Ain Shams University seems to be acting in the belief that the scientists who should know the most about Egypt, the ones who should serve as the leading authority on our nation's history, should be Egyptians themselves. Which would explain why they're launching a brand new Faculty of Archaeology.

The public university recently received approval to add the new faculty in place of the Postgraduate Institute of Papyrus, Inscriptions and Archaeology. While no further details have been released as of yet, we're excited for what this might mean for the nation's third-oldest university and the aspiring archaeologists attending it.
