Ahlan Ramadan Fair Launches Three Months Earlier

Since its inception seven years ago, the Ahlan Ramadan fair - an event that provides basic commodities to citizens at a time when the demand is unusually high - would begin two weeks before Ramadan and last until the end of the month. This year, however, the fair is starting three whole months earlier than usual.

According to Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali Moselhi, five outlets of the Ahlan Ramadan fair are currently being established in each governorate. Moreover, instructions to commercial chains have been rolled out so they set up a corner for selling Ramadan goods at fixed prices.

The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade and the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce decided to launch the Ahlan Ramadan fair much earlier than usual to ensure the accessibility of basic commodities in the market and to control prices amid the rising inflation.
