100 Visual Artists Team Up with the Ministry of Culture to Donate to Public Hospitals

As a part of the “Art for Good,” initiative campaign launched by the Ministry of Culture and adopted by the visual arts sector, over 100 visual artists will be donating the equal price point of one piece of their work to public hospitals to help them face the Coronavirus.

Inas Abdeldayem, the Minister of Culture, described the initiative as a bright example of the unity and honest effort taken by Egyptian individuals and institutions in helping their country during this tumultuous time.

The ‘Art for Good’ initiative was kickstarted by cinematographer and visual artist Waheed Mekheimar through his Facebook page, where he invited his colleagues to follow suit before it was picked up by the ministry and organized into an established campaign.
