Is EasyJet Set To Resume Flights To Sharm El Sheikh in May?

Encouraging news for Egypt’s currently collapsed tourism industry, as an official at the Ministry of Tourism claims that EasyJet Airways will resume flights from England to Sharm El-Sheikh in May 2016.

Emerging with the story is the Daily News Egypt, who report an unnamed official stating that a review of airport security procedures is being conducted by the company Control Risks, and will complete their evaluation on the 28th April.

With tourism hitting an all-time low, weakening Egypt’s foreign currency reserves, the Egyptian government is looking to bolster the tourism industry by launching flights in April to 12 European, Asian, and African countries.

Chairman of the Egyptian Tourism Federation, Elhamy El-Zayat tells the Daily News Egypt that he too believes that British tourism will return to Sharm El Sheikh. However, what is unclear is if the decision is pending the evaluation by Control Risks, and whether an actual date has been set for it resumption.
