Xylem & Water Alliance Launch RE-NEW Water Innovation Challenge in UAE

Global water tech company, Xylem, is collaborating with UAE's Water Alliance to launch RE-NEW, a unique water innovation challenge for students across the United Arab Emirates. First announced during UAE's National Environment Day, the RE-NEW challenge calls on students aged eight to 18 to come up with creative solutions to the global water crisis - and of course to local water conservation habits in their own communities.

“At Xylem, we place water conservation and sustainability at the heart of everything we do," Frank Ackland, Xylem’s Managing Director for the Middle East and Turkey, said. "We believe that educating young minds about the importance of water conservation is key to solving the global water crisis because they will feel more empowered to play an active role in coming up with creative solutions to safeguard our most precious resource.”

The competition will be preceded by the RE-NEW Challenge Innovation course, a set of online sessions organised by Xylem and Water Alliance to guide young learners and motivate them on the proper methods for water conservation.

RE-NEW is open to students, young people in non-profit organizations and children of employees from corporate entities. Applications are open till March 18th. Find out more here.
