Suez Canal Economic Zone to Receive Petrochemical Complex

The Suez Canal Economic Zone is shaping up to be one of the most important national projects in Egypt. Set at the heart of global trade, the Zone is expected to upgrade the area's infrastructure and bring with it a wave of investments from overseas. Within the Zone's Red Sea Complex for Petrochemicals, the largest petrochemical complex in Ain Sokhna, the foundation has been set for the construction of the Zone's first oil-chemical complex to produce diverse petrochemical products.

The complex has received USD 7.5 billion in investments so far, and is expected to create 15,000 jobs. Construction for the complex is scheduled for completion in 2024.
