Startups Without Borders Concludes Competition in Palestine With Meta

Startups Without Borders, a global platform that supports migrant and refugee entrepreneurs, just concluded the Boost Without Borders Finals in partnership with Meta to support Palestinian startups and small businesses.  Devoted to Palestinian startups, the ‘Boost Without Borders - Palestine’ program aims to develop entrepreneurs’ skills and transform their ideas into thriving businesses through digital marketing training and the Investment Readiness Program.

The event - the first of its kind in Gaza - saw 10 startups pitch their business ideas for a chance to win up to $20,000 in cash prizes.

“We are thrilled to partner with Meta to support entrepreneurs in Palestine,” Valentina Primo, Founder and CEO of Startups Without Borders, tells StartupScene. “It was an event that overcame barriers and connected Palestinian startups with investors, mentors and industry leaders from Europe and the Middle East, and that is at the core of our mission. In the past months, we have seen the talent, passion and grit of Palestinian founders thrive through the training sessions, pitch sessions, and the final competition.”

HealthTech startup AlRazi won first prize in the pitch competition, taking home a cash prize of $20,000. Founded by Ahmed Alron, the startup aims to simplify and manage work in medical facilities by reducing paperwork and saving time in order to focus on the quality of medical services, including tele-medicine.

Coming in second place is Olivery, a B2B SaaS Platform for logistic companies, which received $15,000 cash prize, followed by Naviatix, a startup that provides understanding and metrics on granular driving behavior, which received $10,000 cash prize. Finally, coming in fourth place is Grants Systems, a web-based reporting system for NGOs, which took home $5,000.

In addition to providing an investment readiness program for 50 local businesses, the ‘Boost Without Borders - Palestine’ program provided a TOT training program for accelerators, incubators and entrepreneurship support programs in Palestine. This program also featured a series of Meta Boost training sessions for 500 entrepreneurs, as well as masterclasses by external expert speakers from Meta and partner companies.
