Jordanian Edtech Abwaab Acquires Pakistani Learning Platform Edmatrix

Jordan-based digital learning platform, Abwaab, has acquired Pakistani social e-learning platform, Edmatrix.

The acquisition means that Abwaab’s operations in Pakistan are effective immediately, giving it access to a market of over 50 million students in the South Asian country with a strong demand for high-quality, affordable education.

Founded in 2019, Abwaab offers a customised and visualised learning experience, incorporating continuous assessment and performance-tracking features that allow secondary school students to learn at their own pace.

Following the edtech startup’s recent ramping up of operations and its expansion into Egypt, the acquisition marks its first operational launch into the wider Asian market, and the acquisition brings into union two startups on a mission to decentralise and digitally transform education.

“Our mission to provide the highest-quality education and make it accessible and affordable to each and every student regardless of socioeconomic background aligns perfectly with Edmatrix’s,” affirmed Abwaab co-founder and COO Sabri Hakim.

“We're proud to have them on board as we embark on a journey to change the way students learn in our part of the world.”
