Future is Female Mentorship Launches for Female Founders in Africa

The second edition of the Future is Female Program, dedicated to meeting the business development needs of African tech female founders in PR and communications, has been launched by New York company C. Moore Media.

The mentorship programme works to support the underserved segment of African female entrepreneurs and founders of early-stage startups by providing them with the tools necessary to thrive in the sector. In sharing communication knowledge, skills, and insights with startups, the programme seeks to help companies gain traction and grow their businesses.

Aimed at African women launching or growing tech businesses with high-growth potential based within the continent, or African women abroad, the Future is Female Program centres the continent’s economic development.

In 2020, the programme selected 12 startups for its inaugural edition and has opened applications again for a new round inviting more fresh faces, with the cohort size bumped up to 25.

“We had such an incredible response to the first edition with a fantastic cohort of mentees that went through the programme, we decided to make The Future is Female Mentorship Programme an ongoing annual initiative,” said Claudine Moore, Managing Director and Founder of C. Moore Media.

As in 2020, the programme will teach early-stage tech startups how to create a communications plan, integrate storytelling into business techniques with stakeholders, and provide other forms of guidance. Selected startups will be provided personalised training and resources to meet the needs of their business and sector.

Applications can be submitted on thefutureisfemalementorshipprogram.com until 11:59 pm West Africa Time (WAT) on Monday, July 5.
