Egypt to Establish World’s Fifth Biggest Medicine and Vaccine Storage Capacity

When do we stop preparing for a pandemic? When we've got the pandemic under control? When we've started opening things up? When the WHO says the pandemic has been eliminated worldwide? Wrong, wrong, also wrong - the answer is 'Never', and the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement (EAUP) – aka the country’s main drug supply entity - seems to agree. They're taking steps to make sure they're totally prepared for another pandemic by creating the fifth largest storage of medicines and vaccines in the world, made out of various warehouses that were set up for this purpose.

This was all revealed during a meeting between Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang, and the Chinese Family Planning Association (CFPA), after the CFPA donated USD 100,000 worth of medical supplies to support Egypt against COVID-19. The storage facility has the potential to not just keep Egypt safe should another viral outbreak happen, but to serve as a supplier to other nations in the region.
