Cairo Water Week Will Tackle Sustainability & Security

Why are you taking water for granted? We're not trying to preach or anything but uh we live in a desert, guys, every day that we have water is basically a miracle. We're in a city in a desert with millions and millions of people who keep making more people and all those people need water, they all need some of that good stuff. The bottled stuff, the tapped stuff, the stuff to flush down the other stuff when you stuffed the toilet. So yeah, maybe Cairo Water Week is more or less a big meeting for stakeholders. But it's worth noting what options these stakeholders would consider when climate change and political forces threaten to cause a shortage- which is why we're so interested in this third edition of Cairo Water Week, which will run from October 18th to October 22nd.

Set to take place online due to COVID-19, this year's iteration of Cairo Water Week will focus on such topics as water security, solutions for water security, water security for sustainable development and how cooperation can achieve water security. The threat of climate change on our water supply, and how we can respond in a sustainable fashion, are also big talking points for the weeklong conference.

Cairo Water Week is held annually in cooperation with the European Union, the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organisation, and a whole host of regional powerhouses. If you'd like to learn more, you can visit www.cairowaterweek.eg.
