British University in Egypt Builds Wind Turbines in Upper Egypt
The project is part of an agreement with the Egyptian Countryside Development Company to support the development of new urban and agricultural areas within Minya.
The British University in Egypt (BUE) is installing wind turbines in Minya to help generate green energy, and support groundwater extraction and desalination for drinking and irrigation. The project is part of an agreement with the Egyptian Countryside Development Company to support the development of new urban and agricultural areas within the governorate.
The move is just one of many green projects that are making their mark in Upper Egypt. Last year, Enara Energy supplied renewable energy to 1.5 million feddans in western Minya and El Moghrah, with the aim to expand Egypt’s arable land by 20% while keeping in line with national sustainability goals.
